What Other People Just Like You Are Saying About Sustain Physical Therapy and Performance In Boston’s Back Bay, MA
EXCELLENT Based on 102 reviews Chris Gizmunt2025-04-05Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I ended up at sustain physical therapy and performance after a fall from my electric scooter (I can hear the snickers from here). I worked with Zach due to his experience with injuries similar to mine. Zach was great with… his knowledge coupled with his ability to put me on the road to recovery while navigating the pain and discomfort and simultaneously pushing me a bit (when appropriate) made for a tremendous overall experience. If ever I’m plagued with another injury that would benefit from PT, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Zach and SPTP. Harold Harris2025-03-20Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Zach did an awesome job as my physical therapist. He was clearly knowledgeable and after a thorough one on one evaluation he created a customized plan that we adjusted as I progressed. I saw him for two different issues (foot and hip) and saw significant progress with both injuries. Highly recommend! Vishwanath Raman2025-03-20Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I took the once-a-week plan at Sustained Fitness (SF) for 3 months. For a quick background I am 32 years old and generally more interested in activities such as running (2 to 10 miles), swimming (500m to 2000m), climbing (v4-v6, 10a-11c), hiking and have a very skinny/underweight body type. 6-7 years ago I had a disc bulge in my lower neck and back which caused a whole host of issues that led to muscle loss and significant lifestyle changes, which were also exacerbated by my desk work. I did resume some normalcy but could not continue any of my favourite activities the way I wanted. In the 3 months with Sustained Fitness I went from thinking "I can never run again" to "I can work back up to running 10 miles". My workouts included a combination of calisthenics, resistance bands, weight lifting, isolation, and compound exercises. But most importantly I was given the how and why to do those exercises. This was important since I have done weight lifting and resistance training before, but for my body type (hypermobile joints, lanky, don't gain weight) performing them the way everyone did was not helping. I highly recommend getting the extra $100/month addon for 'pre-planned workouts for the week' as I could focus on doing the exercises rather than brainstorming what is best for me. You can also tell SF what you're looking to improve and they will cater the workouts accordingly, such as better weight lifting, better endurance, shoulder strength, stability, etc. Post 3 months, most of my issues are under control. Resolving them completely would take quite a while as I have to consistently apply what I have learned but with the knowledge I have received I am now confident it will happen. Price wise it seems expensive however being out-of-network for any insurance has an advantage. It gives them the freedom to treat the issues and muscle imbalances that plague the body as a whole, rather than stick to only one body part at a time; the latter being a requirement for most insurance. They were also diligent in giving the paperwork required for out-of-network providers for my health insurance. As a side note my original correspondence was with Ryan almost a year before I actually joined. He remembered our conversation from then and seamlessly setup the initial assessment. I also worked for a session with Adam and it was great. I am sure all the physical therapists/trainers at SF will provide the same quality of service. A heartfelt thank you to the Sustained Fitness team! Stephanie Barlow2025-03-20Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I highly recommend Sustain PT! Dr. Adam Liptak treated me for a shoulder injury and I couldn’t be happier with the results. When I started, I was really in a lot of pain and my limited mobility was impacting my ability to exercise and do daily tasks. Throughout my treatment, my pain levels and range of motion consistently improved until my shoulder was back to normal. Adam is highly knowledgeable and his passion for his work is clear from the very first session. He is also one of the kindest people you will ever meet and is a true professional. I really value the personalized care I received at Sustain. Each session and home workout was tailored to the stage I was at. The workouts included a wide variety of exercises and were continually updated to progress my strength and mobility. Adam also worked with me to build my general fitness to prevent reinjury. I recommend Sustain PT to anyone who has pain or who is looking to maximize their fitness routine. I can’t imagine that you will be able to find this level of expertise and personalized care anywhere else! curt detzer2025-03-18Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I used Sustain Physical Therapy and Performance for a case of tennis elbow. I chose the 10 appointment package and used Zach for the therapy. He was professional easy going. My elbow is healed and I would recommend Zach and this company to anyone who either needs therapy or performance work. John Servidio2025-03-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Sustain is totally pro. Went for rehab on a dislocated shoulder and now go for general training . Adam L is great. Siobhan S.2025-03-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent experience with Sustain! I mainly worked with Dr. Kyle. He helped me recover from a knee injury and develop a sustainable, workout program for my needs - building strength and mobility and getting back into tennis. I learned the proper form for exercises and gained confidence in weightlifting and body movements. Dr. Kyle is very knowledgeable about how to workout for your goals, and I had so much fun training with him! I would absolutely recommend Dr. Kyle and Sustain Physical Therapy and Performance! Recently went back for a shoulder injury and again had a great experience! I worked with Dr. Zach. Through a series of exercises I built strength, mobility and flexibility, and I have recovered from my pain. Dr. Zach is very knowledgable and fun to workout with, and thanks to him, I can get back to playing beach volleyball this summer! I absolutely recommend Sustain! Arnold de Villa2025-03-07Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I went into physical therapy after a mild case of Guillain Barre and a torn up shoulder. I’m a very active person at baseline and I wasn’t sure what physical therapy might be able to do for me. Zachary Schwarz was beyond incredible in comprehensively assessing my current state and explaining a care plan step by step while addressing any questions along the way. Zach was aptly equipped with the foresight and experienced background to both know what I needed and how to challenge my body back to a place I wanted it to be. Zach gave me the confidence to get back into a level of activity that I was happy with and I could not recommend him more as a physical therapist for any rehabilitative or sports injury needs. BIG thank you to Zach for his guidance and physical therapy support in my recovery. Dylan Lingenau2025-02-24Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've been working with Zach for a few months to help with a nagging shoulder injury that's been holding me back in the gym. It's something I've been dealing with for a while that I've either tried to fix myself or see other providers for, and progress has been slow or non-existent. My sessions with and the plan set up by Zach have given me the first tangible relief for my shoulder dysfunction in a long time. I've set lifetime PRs in the gym and feel confident to perform at my best at an upcoming competition. And, aside from that, Zach has all the positive qualities you would want in a physical therapist-- everything is explained clearly, he's very warm & understanding, and honestly just a good dude. I highly recommend anyone seek out Sustain and Zach specifically for physical therapy needs. Luke Mikolajewski2025-02-21Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Being the big-headed person I am, I was reluctant to get back into PT for my lower back because of my previous experiences in which I felt I wasted money. I was often given exercises that I thought I could easily find on YouTube or already did myself for a substantial amount of time. I found Sustain PT through a few google searches and solid reviews, so I gave Adam a call who got me set up with a session with Zach. Zach offered a new perspective and approach than other PTs I have worked with. He aligned our sessions with the goals I had near and far. I had a physical fitness test a month after our first session, and he made sure my back was feeling as healthy and strong as possible for it. I ended up crushing it with minimal pain during the test and after it. His techniques were personal, creative, and adaptive. Each day, he asked how I felt from the previous session or day, and knew exactly what to do based on my response, never pushing me too hard nor let me go through the motions. While it was more expensive than a couple other PT shops I checked out (keep in mind I recently graduated college), it was fully worth it and I now understand why. You can’t place a $ sign on your health. If you are reluctant like I was or get scared of a price tag, try one session and you’ll understand their cost. While I only worked with Zach, the other two Pts (Adam and Adam) I met were very welcoming and personable as well. All smart guys and have GREAT energy which is huge for anyone committed to getting and staying healthy. Thank you Sustain PT.
