My experience with Sustained Fitness and Physical Therapy has been phenomenal. I’ve been in and out of physical therapy for years for various back, foot, and ankle issues, and it always seemed more like a band-aid than a true fix because of the heavy limitations of insurance-driven PT that prevented a more holistic approach. Working with Kyle (Schultz) and getting to experience thorough, thoughtful, integrated, and adaptive exercise programs has been SO worth this investment—I’ve now been consistent with working out for nearly three consecutive months (unprecedented because it used to be such a chore!), I’m able to (thoughtfully) introduce new activities without painful setbacks, and I’m just generally feeling much stronger, healthier, and better, which is so exciting. Someday I’d love to see the traditional PT/insurance world undergo some reforms so that insurance *can* cover the holistic approach that’s served me so well here, but in the meantime, this shift has been worth every penny—would recommend it to anyone.
Sustained Fitness is a must! I had my second microdisectomy surgery in January and received the "traditional" PT regimen. I didn't feel stronger, and certainly didn't feel safe performing activities at work (I’m a nurse) or activities I performed before surgery such as skiing or backpacking. I found Sustained Fitness and was paired up with Kyle. Kyle is super encouraging and explains exercises in great detail. I was super hesitant to begin training my lower body and back after this surgery, but Kyle has taken a stepwise approach to ensure that not only am I physically safe and able to perform the exercises, but mentally comfortable as well. I’m looking forward to extending my time at Sustained Fitness and can’t recommend this place enough!

I worked with Kyle Schultz for the last few months (10 sessions). I reached out to sustained fitness after trying traditional physical therapy for 4 months due to bad lower back pain and sciatica that had worsened in the last year. I had days where I couldn't bend down or do anything for too long without back pain and fatigue. As an active person who prioritizes exercise on a daily basis, it was emotionally and mentally hard not to be able to exercise at the level I was before. Traditional physical therapy was not pushing me past a certain point and I knew I needed more. Kyle worked with me on mobility on strength and gave me autonomy and confidence in performing strength exercises I had never explored before. He was very understanding of the stresses we all face in daily life and programmed exercises for me that I could make work whether at home or in the gym. My pain continues to improve and Kyle truly helped me to feel proud of my progress. Kyle approaches his clients with kindness and does a great job at explaining the "why" of each exercise. Kyle and Sustained fitness will definitely be my go-to for PT in the future!
Sustained Fitness is physical therapy and personal training wrapped up together. The instructors are very knowledgeable and can determine exactly what muscles you need to work to correct weaknesses, misalignments, or whatever ailment you are dealing with. This place takes the guess work out of finding the right training plan for your unique needs or goals. It’s reduced my back and hip pain and each weak I feel stronger. Worth it!
I began consistently began working with Sustained Fitness, now going for over a year, and all the work we've put in together has clearly improved my QoL with problems I've had with my body!
I took the once-a-week plan at Sustained Fitness (SF) for 3 months and worked with Kyle Ashworth as my trainer. For a quick background I am 32 years old and generally more interested in activities such as running (2 to 10 miles), swimming (500m to 2000m), climbing (v4-v6, 10a-11c), hiking and have a very skinny/underweight body type. 6-7 years ago I had a disc bulge in my lower neck and back which caused a whole host of issues that led to muscle loss and significant lifestyle changes, which were also exacerbated by my desk work. I did resume some normalcy but could not continue any of my favourite activities the way I wanted. In the 3 months with Sustained Fitness I went from thinking "I can never run again" to "I can work back up to running 10 miles". My workouts included a combination of calisthenics, resistance bands, weight lifting, isolation, and compound exercises. But most importantly I was given the how and why to do those exercises. This was important since I have done weight lifting and resistance training before, but for my body type (hypermobile joints, lanky, don't gain weight) performing them the way everyone did was not helping. I highly recommend getting the extra $100/month addon for 'pre-planned workouts for the week' as I could focus on doing the exercises rather than brainstorming what is best for me. You can also tell SF what you're looking to improve and they will cater the workouts accordingly, such as better weight lifting, better endurance, shoulder strength, stability, etc. Post 3 months, most of my issues are under control. Resolving them completely would take quite a while as I have to consistently apply what I have learned but with the knowledge I have received I am now confident it will happen. Price wise it seems expensive however being out-of-network for any insurance has an advantage. It gives them the freedom to treat the issues and muscle imbalances that plague the body as a whole, rather than stick to only one body part at a time; the latter being a requirement for most insurance. They were also diligent in giving the paperwork required for out-of-network providers for my health insurance. As a side note my original correspondence was with Ryan almost a year before I actually joined. He remembered our conversation from then and seamlessly setup the initial assessment. I also worked for a session with Adam and it was great. I am sure all the physical therapists/trainers at SF will provide the same quality of service. I worked with Kyle for 3 months, and he helped me overcome climbing and running related injuries/pain. The physical therapy + personal training combo was useful for me to recover and increase my strength and fitness at the same time. I appreciated his holistic and individualized approach and had an overall great experience!
